Used Honda
Japanese carmakers have often been at the forefront of innovative automobile technology. The search for greener more fuel efficient transport methods continues, and Honda is likely to be leading the charge. New and used Honda vehicles have always sought to produce market-leading fuel efficiency and company founder Soichiro Honda appears to be set on trying to produce a vehicle that is greener still. Here we will look at the work Honda have already done to produce more environmentally friendly and economic machines.
Honda’s first genuine innovation was the use of compressed natural gas to run the Honda Civic GX, which still to this day is the only natural gas vehicle commercially available in the USA. The first GX was revealed in 1998, looking just like regular new and used Honda Civic LX models that were driven all over the world. However, with its ability to run solely on natural gases, while still looking and driving just like regular petrol or diesel fuelled Civics, the car made a great impression.
Honda has also put great effort into developing a new flexible-fuel version of their Honda Civic and Honda Fit models. The concept has been implemented by Honda’s Brazilian subsidiary and new and used Honda flexible-fuel models have been available in the country since 2006. Flexible-fuel is a combination of hydrous ethanol (E100) and E20-E25 gasoline. This can reduce dangerous emissions and vehicle running costs.
A further development that Honda has pushed is their range of hybrid electric cars, which began with the Insight in 1999. Since then, three new electric models, the Honda Civic Hybrid, Accord Hybrid and CR-Z have bolstered the market of new and used Honda electric vehicles.
