The Mini Fan Club Comes Home

For those who live in the vicinity of Silverstone, they will be used to a plethora of cars descending on them on regular occasions. However, come May 22nd 2009, things are about to become a darn sight more interesting around those parts!

In celebration of Mini’s 5oth birthday, the third ever MINI United Festival is to be held at the Silverstone race track from 22nd to 24th May and is the largest fan event of the year.

Mini lovers will travel from all over the world for the three day event that will encompass entertainment for adults and kids alike as well as restaurants, bars and kiosks serving food and drink. There will be motorsport action in the form of Mini races, stunt shows and go-karting as well as live music performances, DJ’s and the necessary lounge areas for recovery and relaxation.

A Mini exhibition is promised on a huge scale displaying the entire history of Mini. A total of fifty classic Mini cars have been organised into a race and, of course, the Mini challenge will take place. for those who fancy a go round the famous Silverstone track in their own Mini, feel free!

This promises to be a family event with bobby car racing and climbing to body-painting in the kids area so why not take the whole family along for a fun filled weekend.
