Car Chat started the ball rolling in April as we gave the new Z4 the thumbs up, in fact, we didn’t want to give the car back to BMW but were forced to by our financers!

Since our review, many well respected publications have been impressed with BMW’s latest drop-top, none more so that probably the most respected car journalist of them all, Jeremy Clarkson.

The Top Gear front man reviewed the BMW Z4 sDrive35i in The Sunday Times in which he stated that he favoured this particular convertible Beemer to none other than the Porsche Boxter and Mercedes SLK cabriolet.

Clarkson went as far as to state that the Z4 is ‘now the best of the medium-sized sports cars’ – a glowing reference indeed.

The BMW Z4’s impressive performance stats certainly add up: 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 155mph from this 306bhp machine. With a combined fuel economy of 30mpg, it isn’t particularly thirsty either.

And best of all, it has the looks to back up the performance!
