No Sign Of A Credit Crunch Here!

BMW are set to launch their first roadster with a retractable hard top at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
This is their two-seater sports car with a choice of three engine sizes offering up to 306hp, a Double Clutch Transmission and an Adaptive M Suspension – the first BMW’s to have these specifications.

The electro-hydraulic roof can be raised or lowered in as little as 20 seconds. With softer lines and sweeping headlamps and taillights, this BMW has a much softer look than previous models. But don’t be fooled by this soft exterior – it’s still a beast under the hood with 0 – 62mph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 149mph.

You can extract 31.4 mpg with low emissions and even select your own suspension setting depending on conditions. There’s even plenty of boot space with 180 litres top down and 310 litres with it raised.

The interior of the new BMW has had some slight adjustments to make it more comfortable for the driver with controls arranged slightly higher than before and in a group. The stereo has been moved lower and making the overall size a little larger than previous models there is a little more room inside.
The new BMWZ4 sDrive 23i is available in the UK from May 2009 at £28,645, the BMW Z4 sDrive 30i at £32,660 and the BMW Z4 sDrive 35i at £37,060 – all on the road.
