More For Your Money With Lexus
In order to keep up with the Joneses of the motoring industry, Lexus have made some modifications to their IS 220d. These changes have led to the CO2 emissions down from 163 to 148g/km.
This is good news for those who use Lexus as company cars as the lower emissions mean that more of the original cost can be set off against corporation tax. This means a saving of £1,335 – not to be sniffed at, especially in our current economic climate.
Miles per gallon on the new Lexus update have increased from 46 to 50 mpg so it’s also cheaper to run – always good news. But don’t get to thinking that better fuel consumption and lower emissions come at the expense of any other performance! The 2.2 litre four cylinder engine still gives out 175bhp with a maximum speed of 135mph. Getting up to 62mph from standing will still only take 8.9 seconds, working through a six speed manual transmission.
So, no doubt all these benefits are going to cost, right? Wrong! On the road prices for the Lexus IS 220d is £22,015, the SE-I £24,470 and you can be behind the wheel of the SE-L for £26, 585 – no increase over previous prices. These prices now include the Lexus Vehicle Integrated Dynamics Management system on all models.
