LS460 – You Get What You Pay For

ls460Not many people are in the position to think about buying the new Lexus LS460, especially during the current economic climate, but for those that are, they really are in for a (luxurious) treat!

Competition for the LS460 will of course be the BMW 7 series, Mercedes Benz S class and Audi A8 – cars aimed at the distinguished, well-to-do gentleman so the long list of luxurious features makes for interesting reading.

Firstly the suspension: an adaptive variable air suspension with three settings including comfort mode and sport mode, depending on what kind of mood you’re in. The Dyanmic Radar Cruise Control is beyond words – how cool it must be to be able to set the distance behind which you want to travel behind the car in front – a fantastic road safety device, albeit a costly one.

Then there’s the heated steering wheel. We’ve all heard of, and even have heated seats, but a heated steering wheel?!? Great for those winter mornings, I bet!

Other delightful features include an electric seatbelt adjustment system that adjusts the height of your belt at the touch of a button, tire pressure monitoring display for all four tyres and also the spare and adaptive front lighting system.

The LS460 is by no means an old man’s cruiser, especially when the suspension is in sports mode. A bootful will have the 4.6 litre V8 engine growling back at you as you hit the open road.
