Lexus look set to fight fire with fire in 2009.
Having released the IS 250c in an attempt to challenge the BMW Z4, Mercedes SLK and Audi S4 cabriolet, they now look set upon taking on their German rivals in the saloon department with the IS 220d.

This latest Lexus offering is no slouch either: with a top speed of 135mph and the capabilities of doing 0-62mph in 8.9 seconds, this elegant beauty will see most boy racers off at the lights, gliding effortlessly against the most harsh of pot holes.
And for those of you who are wanting an eco-friendly drive, the stats on the IS 220d do not disappoint: CO2 emissions of just 148g/km with a combined mpg of 50.4 to boot.
With a starting on the road price of just under £25,000, the IS 220d looks set to challenge its rivals throughout 2009.
