In order to keep up with the Joneses of the motoring industry, Lexus have made some modifications to their IS 220d. These changes have led to the CO2 emissions down from 163 to 148g/km.
This is good news for those who use Lexus as company cars as the lower emissions mean that more of the original cost can be set off against corporation tax. This means a saving of £1,335 – not to be sniffed at, especially in our current economic climate.
We’ve all seen those cars on the road – the ones that just make your jaw drop because you know they are the height of luxury. There are the usual suspects but there also some understated vehicles that you simply would have no idea about unless you drove one. Trouble is, once you have, you just won’t want to go back to an ordinary car again!
It has to be said that while there is a recession on, it doesn’t affect everyone. And those lucky few who still have cash to splash should take a look at the very latest in luxurious vehicles while the rest of us turn green with envy!
Lexus have released two new versions of the RX 400h – Europe’s only hybrid premium SUV. The Lexus RX 400h Limited Edition comes with leather upholstery, heated electrically operated front seats and the latest in cutting edge on board entertainment and communications.
In April of 2008, Lexus launched their IS-F on the UK market, with only 150 vehicles available. And now anyone can get one – if you have a spare 50k laying around.
But oh, how that 50k would be worth spending! 0 – 60 in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 168mph coming from a 5 litre V8 engine. Sheer power wrapped in a complete beast of a shell that displays power as well as beauty, that commands attention and leavers on-lookers in awe.
This high tech sports saloon offering from Lexus sports an ‘F’ which could easily stand for ‘finesse’ or ‘flair’ but actually represents ‘Fuji’ – as in the Fuji Speedway – home of Toyota and Lexus testing facilities.
Within a very short history, Lexus have not only become leaders in the way forward for automobiles but also show great potential as leaders in the fight for a better future for the next generation. Not only do they have a highly efficient programme of recycling but they also believe, in the words of Michael Jackson, that ‘children are our future’.
With a whole thirteen months ahead of us to enjoy the reduced VAT rate of 15%, consumers will be glad to know that Lexus intend to pass this saving on to all potential customers of their vehicles and services.
Everything from the price of a new Lexus to number plate charges and even delivery charges will all have the 2.5% reduction in VAT applied to them. Lexus are already known for being a car of good quality – after all, where else can you get such a luxury model for a mere £23, 192? Well, that may sound a good price for a luxurious car such as this but with the VAT reduction, this now makes the Lexus IS 220d SE as little as £22, 015 on the road.
Lexus have finally managed to make a foot hold in the car market and this has meant that their German rivals have had something to think about in the past couple of years. This is because Lexus have been able to develop consistently good cars such as the new IS series as well as the new supercar that has been released the LF-A.
But it was in 2007 that the new look GS series was released onto the car market with brand new looks and new engines that boosted power as well including the famous hybrid technology that Lexus have been working on in the past few years making their cars cleaner and better to the environment.
Once again, a treat from the LA Auto Show – the Lexus 2010 RX 350 and RX 450h!
The RX 350 is a 3.5 litre, 275 HP, 6 speed automatic while the RX 450h is a 3.5 litre hybrid of sleek appearance, oozing all the quality and style expected from luxury brand, Lexus.
The V6 gas engine of the 450h runs on a mega efficient Atkinson system. Coupled with a more efficient inverter, total output equals 295 horsepower – that’s 27 more than the current Lexus. More efficient running is gained by the exhaust heat recovery system that reduces warming up time and emissions are lowered as well as making it more cost effective to run.
It’s a car famous for its luxuriousness. Its sleek styling runs throughout its entire range. As it cruises down the street it turns heads from all walks of life. It is the choice of every discerning man, woman and top business. It is spacious. Its performance and agility are unbeatable. Comfort is never compromised. So, what would be the point of all this without a top quality sound system to accompany you on your drive?
You’ve Heard Of Million Dollar Man – Well Here comes Million Mile Man
If ever there was a true advocate of the Lexus brand it has to be Peter Harvey. This man is utterly loyal to Lexus and has driven a million miles in a series of fifteen of these luxury cars.
Mr Harvey doesn’t consider himself to be either obsessed with the make or unadventurous, but says he has found the most reliable vehicle that delivers exactly what it promises to do, so why change?
Why change indeed!
I don’t know anybody these days that isn’t looking to save money one way or another. With the rising cost of living and in particular, the unpredictable cost of fuel these days, running a car is increasingly expensive. Car insurance is often a bit of a postcode lottery and, regardless of how careful a driver you are, you can still be penalised for where you live.
With this in mind, many of us like to do what we can to keep our expenses down and Lexus owners have it a little easier. Join a Lexus owners club and Sky Insurance are offering up to twenty per cent discount on their premiums.
Oh my god – I just fell in love! There was not build up, no getting to know each other, no dancing around with occasional flirtations. Just in your face, mind blowing, gob smacking, to die for love at first sight – and all this with the new Lexus IS 250 Convertible!
The latest offering from Lexus has just made its debut at the Paris Motor Show and was greeted with awe by dribbling enthusiasts who cannot wait to get their hands on one of these babies when they are released across Europe next summer. (Going to get me one in red!)
