Got A Love For All Things BMW?

Once you get a taste for the best, you tend to want it in all aspects of your life. BMW know this and have made a whole range of accessories for men, women and children to be able to celebrate BMW. You can choose anything from the little accessories such as key rings and good quality leather belts to textiles in the form of T-shirts and jumpers.

For BMW this is a good form of advertising but it’s also a way of supplying top quality products to their customers to keep them coming back for more.

No Sign Of A Credit Crunch Here!

BMW are set to launch their first roadster with a retractable hard top at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
This is their two-seater sports car with a choice of three engine sizes offering up to 306hp, a Double Clutch Transmission and an Adaptive M Suspension – the first BMW’s to have these specifications.

The electro-hydraulic roof can be raised or lowered in as little as 20 seconds. With softer lines and sweeping headlamps and taillights, this BMW has a much softer look than previous models. But don’t be fooled by this soft exterior – it’s still a beast under the hood with 0 – 62mph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 149mph.

It’s All About The Looks

I had to pop to the BMW garage this weekend whilst my car was in for a service and couldn’t help but indulge myself in a little window shopping. This is never a good idea unless you really are in the market for a new vehicle!

I have to say, out of the showroom offerings, there was one vehicle above all the others that stood out for me and that was the X6. An absolute beast of a car, this was, to my mind, more like a tank – in the nicest possible way.

A Little Something In The January Sales

Christmas is over and funds are, once again, tight. Yet, life goes on and expenses still need to be met. So, how about digging around the net and bagging yourself a bargain in the car department? I know what you’re thinking – you need a car that is reliable, not some old banger that someone’s flogging off and that is unlikely to make it to the end of the road. Well, take a look at the Cooper BMW website and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

From The Brink Of Failure, Isetta Saved BMW

14141_1024BMW are renowned for their sleek, luxurious cars, for their impeccable safety record and for streaking ahead when it comes to innovative design. They are streets ahead of many other automobile manufacturers and have been so for many years.

It would be a rare thing to pass through even one street today that wasn’t graced by at least one BMW of one calibre or another. And BMW are not afraid of stepping outside the box when it comes to something they truly believe in.

BMW World Final Won By Canadian Alexander Rossi

What better sideline for one of the world’s top car manufacturers than motor sports?

And what better way for a seventeen year old boy to feel like he’s the nuts than to win a race in such an event?
So here we have Alexander Rossi from California winning the championship in the BMW World Final at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico.

Twenty one drivers were in Mexico to represent the Formula BMW Series in the Americas, Asia and Europe and Rossi’s shining performance topped the lot.

New Developments From BMW

The BMW X6 is something new to the BMW range. It is very unique in its design and you can call it a hybrid not in engine terms but in style. They have placed a BMW 6 series body onto an X5 chassis to come out with a meaty sleek style SUV coupe. It is a bit shorter than the X5 SUV but is a little bit wider and lower. This gives it a certain poise and aggressiveness that the X5 can’t pull off.

Getting Touchy Feely With BMW

BMW will, this week, be starting an event that they intend to carry forward into the future which allows people to actually touch the exhibits in the BMW Museum in Munich. To date, this has not been permitted as some of the 120 items on display, from cars to motorbikes are often delicate.

To allow for this, all visitors will be handed white gloves to wear. This level of interaction with historical pieces of BMW was previously discouraged but BMW now want visitors, particularly the visually impaired, to be able to ‘get a piece of the action’ and to get a real sense of what BMW is all about – the quality, the aesthetics and the sense of solid history that only a touchy feely experience can offer.

BMW Technicians – The Creme de la Creme

We all know how the top car manufacturers like to claim that they have specialist, qualified, expert, professional, dedicated, skilled technicians that work solely on their cars, knowing them inside out and applying every ounce of knowledge to that make of car but just how true is this? How do we know they’re not just your average garage monkey looking for a better wedge of pay?

Well, BMW are happy to be completely open about the training programme that they put their technicians through and it’s not an easy one. There’s no ‘Kwik fit’ style going on here! Even the criteria for getting onto their STEP (Service Technician Education Programme) is pretty stringent and beyond what your average mechanic would be able to take on.

What Drives BMW?

What drives a company to perform well? Is it simply money or an eagerness to be the best – to have an enviable reputation? What drives a company to better itself if the money is already rolling in? If the money is already coming in then a certain reputation has already established itself so why change things?
There are world class companies, such as BMW, who are not entirely content with a certain turnover.

New Offerings From BMW

New car manufacture may have eased off a little during this economic slowdown but this does not deter BMW from looking to greater things. In fact, it probably inspires them more to continue being the best they can and growing with ever more flair and technology to keep one step ahead of competitors. So, what do we have to look forward to in the near future from BMW?
