BMW Keeping Up To Speed

For all lovers of BMW, hold on to your hats because they have just released details of their latest offering, due to go on sale in October 2009, that will knock the spots off everything else. The BMW X5 M and X6 M are capable of reaching 62 mph in as little as 4.7 seconds, still keeping to over twenty miles per gallon for fuel consumption.

Powerful and dynamic in performance, the BMW X5 M and X6 M are four wheel drive vehicles that are setting a high standard for anyone else to try and match. With a twin turbo-charged 555bhp V8 engine, BMW are as proud as they deserve to be with their most powerful M car ever produced.

BMW have gone all out to make this car as efficient as possible and certainly more efficient than previous models due to the placement of the turbo chargers and catalytic converters being located within the vee. This results in a shorter exit manifold and therefore better engine performance.  High precision injection technology also helps to create a car that meets all the latest, very strict, EU emissions regulations.

The dynamic performance control, as seen on the previous X6, has been tweaked for more power and heightened control on corners and once again, BMW are raking in the rewards for their environmental efforts. The brake energy regeneration, on-demand air conditioning and fuel pump and volume flow control of hydraulic fluid in the steering are all efforts that will assist in saving fuel and also keep CO2 figures down.

For exterior concerns, once again BMW take the biscuit. Styled to show off its sports capabilities, the X5 M and X6 M boasts bespoke 20 inch alloys, M badged side gills on the front wing and quad exhaust pipes. Aerodynamics have been tweaked to perfection with slight profile changes, again saving on fuel.

Stunning interior aspects include leather upholstery, M Sport seats, leather steering wheel, M footrest, M instrument grouping, electric heat adjustment, front seat heating, double zone air conditioning and a Professional Multimedia Navigation system. The X6 M also includes a twelve speaker stereo system with a 230 watt amplifier – what else would you expect?
