Auto Express Says BMW 3 Series Is Best Compact Executive Car and Best Covertible
The BMW 3 Series Saloon and Convertible have been named best compact executive car and best convertible. The two high-profile awards were awarded to the motoring company by th UK’s biggest selling weekly motoring magazine: Auto Express.
The panel of motoring experts from the magazine assessed the two cars and later awarded them the two prestiduous awards.
The road test team from Auto Express said: ‘BMW’s superior dynamics won the day. A model range that includes everything from a diesel variant capable of 62.8mpg to the supercar-chasing 414bhp M3 is unbeatable’ about the Saloon.
The BMW 3 Series Convertible also achieved high praise, with the experts saying: ‘The standard 3 Series is famed for its sharp handling rear-wheel-drive chassis and the Convertible is no different. It leaves the competition trailing with its agility, grip and balance, while the engine range includes BMW’s potent petrol and diesel units.’
Although these were the only wins for BMW, the company were commended in six other areas as well. The BMW Z4, 5 Series Sallon, 3 Series Coupe, 7 Series, X6 and MINI JCW Hatch all were awarded praise from the panel.
The awards were made public just after the 3 Series was awarded Best Fleet Car 2009 by Fleet World and the BMW 318d awarded top Executive Car in the What Car? Green Car awards 2009.
