The advertising campaign is aimed at the general public to do their bit for global warming and buy themselves an eco friendly car.

An animated ad called ‘Do’er’ will be shown during the first commercial break for the premiere of Al Gore’s environmental documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, to be shown on Saturday 4th April at 9.20pm.

History Repeating Itself At Honda

When it comes to Honda production over the years, there is an undisputed opinion that the best thing they ever did was the Honda Vamos – a microvan in production between 1970 and 1973. This was an odd looking two door van with a 354cc engine – odd but loved, like so many of us!

Honda have re-introduced the Vamos for its fans and have brought it bang up to date. It now comes with a 660cc engine so more power and four doors, the rear ones sliding. So you have easy access and bags of room, considering the overall size of the van.

Lexus Meet The Challenge For The Future

Car manufacturers are grinding to a halt all around yet Lexus continue to drive out one top of the range car after another. Not content with our recently reported on 250h due for release in 2010, Lexus are also preparing their public for the RX 450h, making its European debut at Geneva this week.

Significantly lower carbon dioxide emissions are the key attraction to the hybrid, setting a new benchmark for other car manufacturers to live up to. Fuel efficiency and never before seen hybrid power are also what Lexus hope will grab attention and widen their already burgeoning fan base.

Mini Vehicle With Maximum Resale Value

There are just a few things in life that hold their monetary value. Keep your jeans long enough and they’ll become ‘vintage’ which makes them worth more and hang on to your house long enough (not easy in the current climate!) and that will make you money too. However, buy a car and the general consensus is that you will lose a great deal of money just by driving it off the forecourt.

Not so with that great British classic – the Mini. MSN Autos have labelled the Mini the best new car to hold its value. After three years of ownership, you can still expect to get 67% of its original value in a resale.

Well It’s Not BMW That Are About To Close!

Just when the press is full of doom and gloom for the automotive industry, BMW come along and prove all the critics wrong! As a measure of the public’s trust in BMW and BMW’s strength in the current car market, the group have just reported sales of the 7 Series in the Middle East as 121% higher in January 2009 than the same time last year.

Lexus Reduces Its Carbon Footprint

carA certain softness in its lines accompanies the new Lexus HS 250h due for release in 2010. According to Lexus, this is the world’s first dedicated luxury hybrid vehicle.
It claims to be the most fuel efficient vehicle in the entire Lexus range with a four cylinder engine and an exhaust heat recovery system that decreases engine warm up time, thus allowing the Lexus to reach maximum efficiency as quickly as possible.

To use long labels  the Lexus has a Variable Valve Timing with intelligence in the Atkinson-cycle engine – this means that the expansion/power stroke is longer than the compression stroke so engine power is produced more rapidly from the combustion energy. Did you get all that?

Turning Heads With Your Chopper

bikeHonda make some of the world’s most impressive cars which led them to thinking – why stop there? Their move into motorcycles has meant they now have a double barrelled effect on the motoring world with as much eye boggling oomph on two wheels as they muster on four. If you have any doubts about that, take a look at the 2010 Honda Fury, introduced at the New York International Motorcycle Show last month.

Blowing Hot And Cold

My wheels and my music. Here we have two issues, both of equal importance to me but as a busy working parent both are neglected. When I’m in my car I guess I’m pretty much like any other busy parent in that I want to listen to good tunes but my schedule means that I have limited time to sort it out and I end up driving along constantly flicking between radio stations and bemoaning the fact that there’s ‘nothing on’.
